オートデスク、エンターテインメント業界向け3次元CGツールの最新版と製品スイートを発表
オートデスクは、映画、テレビ、ゲーム、デザインなどエンターテインメント業界向けに、3次元アニメーションソフトウェア「Autodesk Softimage 2010」、リアルタイムキャラクタアニメーションソフトウェア「Autodesk MotionBuilder 2010」、デジタルスカルプト／3次元ペイントソフトウェア「Autodesk Mudbox 2010」の3製品を発表した。
また、統合3次元CGソリューションの最新版「Autodesk Maya 2010」「Autodesk 3ds Max 2010」「Autodesk Softimage 2010」のいずれかと「Autodesk MotionBuilder 2010」をセットにした「Autodesk Real-Time Animation Suite」、同3製品のいずれかと「Autodesk MotionBuilder 2010」「Autodesk Mudbox 2010」をセットにした「Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite」も同時に発表した。
Softimage 2010は、ゲーム開発、映画、放送業界で高い実績がある3次元ソフトウェアの最新版で、最適化されたコアアーキテクチャ、Softimage Face Robotテクノロジを利用したフェイシャル・リギング・アニメーションツールセット、カスタムICEノードに対する優れた制御を実現する機能を搭載。第3世代のSoftimageギガポリゴンコアアーキテクチャであるギガポリゴンコアIIIは、優れたデータハンドリングと大幅な処理速度の向上を実現している。
MotionBuilder 2010は、パフォーマンスの高速化、アニメーションワークフローの強化、物理処理能力の拡張、相互運用性の向上が図られている。
Mudbox 2010の最新版では、新しいワークフローの採用でAdobe Photoshop、3ds Max、Maya、Softimageとの併用が容易になった。
