日本民藝館からはじまって東京、益子、北杜、盛岡、会津、松本、南砺、京都、丹波、

各スポットでは、民藝品の特徴や歴史を紹介。

A book that introduces the world of folk art through a journey to folk crafts museums and famous shops across Japan.

Starting with The Japan Folk Crafts Museum, it showcases representative handicrafts from various regions, including Tokyo, Mashiko, Hokuto, Morioka, Aizu, Matsumoto, Nanto, Kyoto, Tamba, Kurashiki, Izumo, Yame, Yomitan… and more.

At each location, the book explains the characteristics and history of Mingei（Japanese folk crafts）.It also explains the connections to members of the Mingei circle, such as Muneyoshi Yanagi, Shōji Hamada, Keisuke Serizawa, Tarō Maruyama, Kanjirō Kawai, Shōya Yoshida, Bernard Leach, and Kichinosuke Tonomura, among others.

Not only can you use it as a handy travel guide, but you can also enjoy it as an introductory book to the world of Mingei.



【著者について】
文筆家。日本文藝家協会会員。東京と大阪を拠点に、デザイン、インテリア、北欧、 手仕事、民藝などの周辺の執筆を中心に活動。代表的な著書に、『北欧ではたらく移住して見つけた私だけの生き方』（左右社）、『暮らしの民藝』『北欧の日用品』 （エクスナレッジ）、『ストーリーのある50の名作椅子案内』（スペースシャワーネ ットワーク）、『北欧とコーヒー』（青幻舎）、『民藝の教科書』（グラフィック社）など がある。また、『椅子』（WOWOW）、『ハルカの光』（NHK Eテレ）などの番組の監修も手がけている。
